Yes, parachute pants are back — and this pair goes with any outfit

As of 2022, what was one of the biggest trends of the early millennium is back — and even supermodels can’t resist.

It was a big trend in the 2000s.

Parachute style pants were one of the great trends of the 2000s. When we weren’t watching “Morangos com Açúcar” or texting on MSN, we were likely to be in stores looking for new clothes and, on the shelves, there was no shortage of suggestions like e.g. And like many other fashions of the time, this too has returned to become part of our wardrobe.

The name comes from nylon, the fabric from which they are made and which is similar to the material we see in parachutes. Their wide design and elastic waist are other key features of these pants.

The trend has even reached some of the biggest names in fashion. Supermodel Bella Hadid, who dictates much of what’s popular today, was photographed wearing a pair of parachute pants, which she paired with a top or a loose t-shirt — yes, models need more comfortable days too. Selena Gomez, Rihanna and Katie Holmes were other celebrities who indulged in the relaxed style.

In 2021, the Danish brand Remain Birger Christensen predicted the return of this trend and bet on some pieces that were close to its design — although it opted for leather, which is inherent in Copenhagen’s hallmarks. Other luxury houses have also bet on this silhouette, such as the case of Stella McCartney, which has a piece for sale for €1,964.25, and Bottega Venetta, with a proposal from €.

It goes without saying that in fast fashion stores there are also many options (and with friendlier prices). At Stradivarius we found a pair in (super) white tone. This pigment is quite versatile. Want to pair them with a darker top? It will be OK. If you are in the mood to bet on bright colors, these are also a good complement.

It has a very white tone.

The proposal of the Spanish brand is very fluid and has no seams. It also reveals an adjustable elastic closure at both the waist and ankles, which opens the door to different types of silhouettes — you can either go for a more toned silhouette or a looser one.

In terms of sizes, the pair is available between XS and L (XXS and XL are also options, but they are sold out. Available in physical stores and on the website for €29.99.
