The studio [2.21] announced today that remastered versions of two classic 90s games, Relentless: Twinsen’s Adventure is Twinsen’s Odyssey, also known as Little Big Adventure 1 & 2, are under development. The demo of the remastered version Relentless: Twinsen’s Adventure will be available from Steam NextFestwhich will take place from 19 to 26 June 2023.
Both games will be released in 2024 on PC and consoles (without specifying which) to celebrate the 30th anniversary of the first game. Worldwide, the new IP will have a new identity, Twinsen’s Little Big Adventure.
Twinsen’s Adventure and Twinsen’s Odyssey: 90’s Classics
Both titles, Relentless: Twinsen’s Adventure is Twinsen’s Odyssey were classic games from the 90s. The games were originally developed by Adeline Software International and published by Electronic Arts (Europe) and Activision. The first game was released in 1994, followed by the second in 1997. Players follow Twinsen, an ordinary citizen living under the dictatorship of Dr. Funfrock in the first game, to save the inhabitants of his planet. In Brazil, the game was distributed for free by CD Expert Magazine and created a very strong community, which is still active today.
The artistic director of the project is the Brazilian Paulo Torinno, an artist from El Salvador who created a fan Twinsen’s Adventure who impressed the developers and was invited to join the team.
Building on their initial success, both games were extremely well received by critics and players in the US, UK, Germany and Brazil. Worldwide sales are estimated at 500,000 copies for the first game and 800,000 copies for the second. These two incredible games were re-released on Steam in 2012 with 200,000 digital copies sold.

In these remastered versions of the games Twinsen’s Odysseyplayers will be able to relive Twinsen’s adventures and travel from island to island, enjoying various improvements including:
- A complete graphical and technical review: Each game will benefit from a graphical and technical overhaul with Epic Games’ Unreal Engine 5 and has been rebuilt from the ground up. They will enjoy improved animations, better camera tracking and high visual resolution to make Planet Twinsun worthy of a new generation. The art direction of the game was attributed to Brazilian artist Paulo Torinno.
- Completely revamped controls: Analog controls will allow finer control of the Twinsen. New abilities such as evasion and the ability to instantly switch weapons will open up new possibilities for players. The option to use original controls will be offered to purists.
- Updated Music: Thanks to the incredible work of composer Philippe Vachey, the game’s original soundtrack became an instant classic. 30 years later, it’s time to re-enchant the game with remastered versions of both games’ soundtracks.
