RTP. The public station spends almost 2.8 million on cleaning services

RTP spent almost €2.8 million (€2,781,637.92) to acquire sanitation and cleaning services for the public station premises in a 36-month contract.

According to the data contained in the contract available on the Base Portal, as of December last year, RTP explains that the total fee referred to the “provision of services subject to this Contract is €2,781,637.92 (two million seven hundred eighty-thousand six hundred and thirty-seven euros and ninety-two cents), plus VAT at the current legal rate, which refers to all possible renewals with a limit of 36 (thirty-six) months”, adding that the prices mentioned in the previous numbers ” include all costs, charges and expenses for which responsibility is not expressly attributed to RTP, as well as for the fulfillment of the other obligations included in this Agreement”.

Through a public tender launched on October 15, 2021, in which 14 entities participated, RTP selected Asepsia – Serviços de Cleaning, LDA. The execution period is 1095 days. The contract, which was signed in April 2022, remains in force for a period of one year, beginning on April 1, 2022, and ending on March 31, 2023, but, after that period, “the contract may, by agreement of the parties, be subject in renewal for the same period, provided that its total duration does not exceed 36 months”, adding that with “60 days before the end of the initial period of the contract, provided for in number one of this clause, the RTP may inform the second party of its intention to renew the contract’.

Regarding the specification of the cleaning services to be performed, the public station explains that permanent cleaning services “must include the cleaning actions provided for daily cleaning services” and that it can request from the selected company “unscheduled cleaning services” . , which will be agreed later. The company is still “obliged to provide unscheduled sanitation and cleaning services, of an emergency nature, within and outside the granted premises and hours, including weekends and holidays, if requested by RTP to provide the aforementioned services.”

In the contract, the public station guarantees that the expenditure inherent in this contract “is provided for in the State Budget Law, with the fiscal classification: 25.02.25, in accordance with article 96, paragraph 1, line h of the CPC”.
