Portimonense announce four more reinforcements for a total of eleven
Portimonense have confirmed four more signings, Portuguese Sérgio Conceição, Brazilian Alemão and Colombians Emiro Garcés and Yony González, taking their number of signings in the winter market to 11.
Center Alemão and right-back Emiro Garcés were introduced this Tuesday, in a press conference, while right-back Sérgio Conceição and winger Yony González will only be presented to reporters on Wednesday.
The 20-year-old German, the fourth centre-back signed in January, is signed until June 2027 after completing his training at Corinthians without making his first-team debut under the Sao Paulo banner.
“He had some offers from other clubs, but he preferred Portimonense. He is the future of our defence,” said SAD Algarve board president Rodini Sabaio at a press conference.
The player was “thankful” with what he had already seen, confirming the clues left by Diego Coelho, his former Corinthians youth team coach and current Portimonense under-23 coach.
“I’m very young, it’s my first time outside of Brazil. But I’m happy with what I’ve seen here, with the structures of the club and all the support from the management. I hope to take the opportunity and contribute in the best way”, Alemão said.
Emiro Garcés, a right-back who can also play as a centre-back, joins Portimonense on a season-and-a-half loan from Deportivo Pereira, in the top division of Colombian football.
“I am very happy. I want to thank Portimonense for opening the doors to me. I was impressed with the structures of the club and the excellent organization. I know that good Colombian players have already passed through here, such as Jackson Martínez and Angulo. and I hope to I’m doing better,” said the 21-year-old defender.
Wednesday will feature Sérgio Conceição, 26, formerly of Seraing (Belgium) and Yony González, 28, who was loaned from Benfica to Deportivo de Cali (Colombia).
In the winter transfer window, Portimonense had already confirmed goalkeeper Matheus Nogueira, defenders Wagner Leonardo, Lucas Alves and Park Ji-soo and midfielders Maurício, Lucas Ventura and Hinojosa.
The Algarve team is in 13th place, with 20 points, after 18 matches played in I Liga.
