For €16 you can taste more than 200 wines at this party in Lisbon
Red, white and sparkling wines: there are plenty of suggestions to try in the “best edition” of the Wine Party Awards.
The party will take place on March 25th.
Passion for Wine magazine is organizing a two-for-one event at the end of March dedicated to the Portuguese’s favorite drink. In the fifth edition of the initiative, which will take place at the Vila Galé Ópera Hotel, next to the Docks, in Lisbon, you will be able to taste the best recently awarded wines. The Passion for Wine Awards Wine Party is open to all. You only need to pay 20€ to try dozens of reports.
The party is scheduled for Saturday, March 25, from 5pm to 10pm. You will have the opportunity to browse the stalls of the various producers with the glass that will be given to you at the entrance, to the sound of DJ André Vieira’s music. “All this to be enjoyed inside the Vila Galé Ópera or on the beautiful terrace overlooking the Tagus River, enjoying the sunset”, guarantee the managers.
“The motto is to reward and celebrate the excellence of Portuguese wines and to share the celebration with all those who help make this possible.” In addition to wine recommendations from almost all regions of the country, visitors will have free access to annotated tastings. According to the organization, it will be a unique opportunity to taste, but also to learn, since at the same time there will be tastings that are commented on with the winemakers.
At NiT, the organization reveals that it is still processing applications, as only 25 of the approximately 50 award-winning producers can attend. In terms of evaluation, each of the proposals was blindly tested by the panel of tasters from Passion for Wine magazine. Overall, they rated 1067 wines Portuguese. Of these, 127 were awarded in three categories: Prestige (impressive); Excellence (perfection) and Choice (best value for money).
“This has to be the best version ever,” we’re told. For snacks, you can count, as usual, on cheese boards, steaks on chapata bread, bread with freshly made chorizo and “the delicious Vila Galé signature Pan Pizzas”.
“Quality is increasingly synonymous with success. In difficult times, wine producers do not give up, on the contrary. They applied even more resources, invested in raw materials of excellence, in sustainability, in people and in the future. The wine sector is an example, it is developing nationally and internationally, conquering the world. And such an achievement should be celebrated”, emphasizes Maria Helena Duarte, director of the magazine and organizer of the event.
Tickets will soon be available at Fnac, Worten and El Corte Inglés stores, as well as online via Ticketline. In addition to the ticket sold on the day of the event (€20 plus free glass), tickets will be available for pre-sale at a discount. You can buy them for €16 for a single and €25 for a double. Both have, of course, an offer by the glass for free tasting of all wines.
