Find out why Jill hasn’t aged

THE showcase from Capcom last Thursday (09) was full of news, including a new trailer for Resident Evil Death Island. One of the things that caught the audience’s attention was the appearance of Jill Valentine, a franchise veteran who doesn’t seem to have aged a bit. The Japanese giant explained the reason – and it’s not because of “Ivone products”.

According to the official website (translated via Alex Aniel), which is in Japanese, Jill has not aged due to her contact with the T-virus when she was “captured by an enemy during the Spencer Mansion incident”. Despite this, the heroine was left with some “psychological scars” when she left rehab.

A founding member of the BSAA and a former member of STARS, Jill has fought bioterrorism alongside Chris on numerous occasions. Jill has always had a sense of justice and responsibility, but when she was captured by an enemy during the Spencer Mansion incident, she was infected with the T virus and mind controlled, causing her to assist in acts of bioterrorism.

Even after Jill was rescued by Chris, the viral side effects remained, affecting her body’s cell division, and while this suppressed her aging, she also had to deal with the psychological side effects. After a long period of observation and rehabilitation, Jill finally returned to her unit.

Obviously, the lore of the film’s heroine is based on the events of the Resident Evil 5 DLC, Lost in Nightmares. There is only a slight confusion with the T-Virus reference, as her only contact with it was during the fight against Nemesis in Resident Evil 3 — in the fifth game, she is controlled by Wesker, but not via a virus. Have there been any changes to your story?

Resident Evil Death Island is directed by Eiichiro Hasumi, director of the live-action “Assassination Classroom” and written by Makoto Fukami, manga writer of “Psycho-Pass”. Starring Leon, Chris and Jill, the production is expected to arrive in the West in the third quarter of 2023 – the window between July and September.
