Embracer “leased” the rights to Tomb Raider to Amazon for $600 million [RUMOR]

Months after the Embracer Group completed the purchase of Crystal Dynamics and franchises such as Tomb Raider, the series has been linked to several projects run by Amazon. According to a report released by the website Fellowship of Fans, this is because Jeff Bezos’ company has reached an agreement to “lease” the rights to the series, which will bring $600 million to its current owner.

While the details of the deal have not been made public, the franchise makes it the second largest investment Amazon has ever made in an entertainment product. The top spot continues to be occupied by The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power, a series that premiered on Prime Video in September last year.

It looks, Embracer Group still owns Tomb Raider, but the franchise will be run by Amazon for the next few years. The company has already confirmed that it will publish and distribute the new game in the series developed by Crystal Dynamicswhich is created using Unreal Engine 5.
